Self-Esteem

Low self-esteem often grows from years of feeling unseen, criticised, or not enough. For queer people, messages of shame or difference can run deep, shaping how we see ourselves and measure our worth. The aim isn’t perfection – it’s self-respect, confidence, and a gentler relationship with yourself.
True self-esteem isn’t about becoming someone else; it’s about remembering who you already are, and learning to treat yourself with the same kindness and acceptance you might offer others.

My Approach

Building a Kinder Relationship with Yourself

Low self-esteem often grows from experiences that made you question your worth. My approach is to help you reconnect with your core self – the part of you that’s inherently valuable and resilient beneath the layers of criticism. Together, we’ll explore the inner critic’s original, often protective, purpose and gently help it step aside, creating space for self-trust and confidence to grow.

Through this process, you’ll begin to notice the old stories that shaped you, challenge them with compassion, and build a steadier sense of self from the inside out.

Our Sesssions

What we can explore together:

Quieting the Inner Critic

Learning to identify and challenge the negative self-talk that erodes your confidence.

Uncovering Your Strengths

Discovering and celebrating your authentic qualities, values, and capabilities that the critic has overshadowed.

Exploring the Origins

Understanding where these feelings of “not enough” come from and how they’ve shaped your life and choices.

Building Resilience

Developing the capacity to handle setbacks and criticism without them defining your entire self-worth.

Living from Your Values

Making choices and building a life that reflects what is truly important to you, not what you think you should be.

A Foundation of Self-Worth

True self-esteem isn’t about being the best; it’s about knowing you have worth, regardless of comparison or outcome. It’s about moving from seeking external validation to feeling a steady, unshakeable sense of your own value, allowing you to engage with the world from a place of strength and authenticity.
