Anxiety

Anxiety can feel like being stuck in overdrive – thoughts racing, body tense, hard to switch off. It can show up as worry, panic, or a constant sense that something’s about to go wrong. For queer people, anxiety can also be shaped by experiences of rejection, hypervigilance, or the pressure to fit in.

My Approach

Finding Calm in the Storm: Working with Anxiety

Anxiety often has deep roots. We’ll make space to understand what’s driving it – how it’s trying to protect you, and how to find steadier ground. It may be a protector, keeping you safe from past hurts, or a signal from a part of you that feels unheard. Together, we’ll move beyond managing symptoms to understanding their source, and find new ways to navigate worry and fear with greater resilience.

Our Sesssions

What we can explore together:

Understanding Your Anxiety’s Language

Learning to identify your unique triggers and the underlying needs or fears that your anxiety is pointing to.

Quieting the Inner Critic

Developing skills to calm your nervous system and challenge the cycle of overwhelming thoughts, creating space between you and your worry.

Addressing the Roots

Exploring how past experiences, trauma, or unmet needs might be fuelling your present-day anxiety.

Reclaiming Your Life

Gradually building the confidence to engage in activities and relationships that anxiety may have led you to avoid.

Cultivating Groundedness

Finding and strengthening the part of you that can remain steady and compassionate, even when anxiety shows up.

A Path Forward

The goal isn’t to erase every anxious feeling – that’s a part of being human. The goal is to transform your relationship with anxiety, so it no longer controls you. It’s about learning to honour its message while choosing a different, more empowered response, allowing you to live with more freedom and peace.
